What are custom MC patches?
Custom motorcycle club patches (or MC patches) are designed to represent the culture, purpose, and pride of your biker group. These patches are typically worn on the back of jackets or vests, featuring a club insignia, name, and often a city or region. Others prefer smaller patches on the front, sleeve, or chest, each patch telling its own story.
The most popular patch types include:
Embroidered patches: Made by stitching thread onto fabric, creating bold texture and depth. They're perfect for logos or symbols with a classic, rugged feel.
Woven patches: Ideal for intricate detail and small text. These patches are thinner, tightly woven, and have a clean, professional look.
Printed patches: Best for complex or photographic designs. They offer vibrant, full-color results on a flat surface.
No matter your style or purpose, Dutch Label Shop helps you create motorcycle patches custom-made to reflect your club’s history, values, and vibe.Â

Starting at €33 for 5 Woven Patches
Our most popular product, now available as a woven patch! Get started creating your custom woven patches and choose from a variety of shapes, sizes and colors.
Designing your own patch should be as smooth as a long, open-road ride. With Dutch Label Shop, it is.
Here’s how you bring your patch idea to life:
Step 1: Choose your patch type
Select "Embroidered" for the classic look or "Woven" for fine details. Choose a standard shape (circle, square) or select "Custom Shape" for cutouts like skulls or engine blocks. For rockers, choose a curved shape.
Step 2: Upload your artwork
Have a vector file (AI, EPS)? Perfect. Only have a JPG or PNG? No problem. Our experts will digitize your file into a stitch pattern. Upon request, we send a digital photo proof for approval before production begins.
Step 3: Select sizes and colors
Choose the size that fits your vest.
Tip: Measure the back panel of your vest. A standard Top Rocker is often 12 to 15 inches wide.
Up to 12 thread colors are included in the price for embroidered and woven patches.
Step 4: Choose border and backing
Border: Go for Merrowed for the most durable, classic finish. Go for Laser Cut if your patch has a very intricate shape with sharp angles.
Backing: Sew-on (recommended for leather), Iron-on (for textile), or Velcro.
If you need help at any point, our expert team is here to assist you, even if it’s your first time designing a patch.

Building a vest (or "Cut") follows unwritten rules and traditions. We offer specifications that fit every part of your gear.
1. The Center Patch (Back Patch)
The heart of your vest. For MCs and RCs, this is typically the club logo.
Recommendation: Choose 100% embroidery coverage for a rich, 3D look that pops against black leather or denim.
Size: Standard ranges from 10" to 14" in diameter or height.
2. Rockers (Top & Bottom)
The curved text patches are worn above and below the center logo.
Top Rocker: Usually displays the club name.
Bottom Rocker: Often displays the territory (City/State) or status (e.g., "NOMAD").
Important Note: Wearing a 3-piece set (Top, Center, Bottom) is strictly regulated in motorcycle culture and often reserved for traditional MCs. If you are an independent rider or a Riding Club, consider a 1-piece design (where name and logo are integrated) or a 2-piece set to avoid territory conflicts.
Finish: Always choose a Merrowed Border. This thick, overlocked edge protects the patch from fraying due to constant wind whip.
3. Name & Rank Tags
Small, rectangular patches on the chest (often 1" x 4") to identify the wearer or their role.
Popular Texts: "PRESIDENT", "ROAD CAPTAIN", "SGT AT ARMS", or the "Road Name" (Nickname).
Technique: For very small text, we recommend our Woven Patches. This technique uses finer threads than embroidery, keeping even the smallest letters sharp and legible.
4. Memorial & Event Patches
Honor fallen brothers or commemorate legendary rides.
Option: Use Printed Patches if you need a photorealistic image of a person or complex artwork with gradients that cannot be embroidered.
Biker patches built to last
In the battle against the elements, only the best materials win. Here is why our patches hold up where budget alternatives fail.
Material Science: Polyester vs. Rayon
Many budget suppliers use Rayon (artificial silk). Rayon has a nice sheen but is weak when wet and fades quickly under UV light. We use exclusively High-Tenacity Polyester. Polyester is hydrophobic (repels water), extremely high-tensile, and inherently UV-resistant. Your patches will retain their color vibrancy, ride after ride, year after year.
Backing Advice: Leather vs. Denim
Attachment is crucial for the safety and longevity of your vest.
For Leather Vests: We strongly recommend our Sew-On backing. Leather contains oils that repel glues. Iron-on patches will eventually peel off leather. Furthermore, the heat required to melt the glue (320°F / 160 °C) can permanently damage (dry out/shrink) your leather. Sewing is the only professional method for leather.
For Denim & Canvas Cuts: Our Industrial Iron-On (Heat Seal) is excellent. We use a commercial-grade Polyamide (PA) adhesive layer. When heated correctly, it fuses molecularly with the cotton fibers of denim, creating a permanent bond that withstands machine washing.
For Tactical Gear: Choose Velcro (Hook & Both sides) if you need to swap patches between different jackets or bags.

Frequently asked questions about custom biker patches
Can you emboss or deboss designs onto biker patches?
Yes. Especially with materials like leather or PVC, embossing and debossing offer a premium 3D look that enhances logos and text. It’s a great option for elegant or high-impact designs.
Do you make patches specifically for motorcycle vests?
Absolutely. Whether you’re looking for large back patches or smaller emblems for the front, our patches can be tailored to fit any part of your motorcycle vest.
What is the best way to attach patches to a leather vest?
Sewing is the industry standard for leather. Use a strong polyester thread and a needle suitable for leather. Gluing or ironing onto leather is discouraged as it does not guarantee adhesion and can damage the hide. If you do not have a heavy-duty sewing machine, we recommend visiting a local leather repair shop.
What’s the minimum order quantity?
Our minimum order is just 5 pieces. This makes it possible to run a prototype batch for your club officers before placing a larger order for all members. It is also ideal for small riding groups.
How durable are custom biker patches?
Thanks to the use of 100% polyester thread, our patches last for years, even with intensive outdoor use. They are resistant to fading from sunlight and fraying, provided they have a merrowed border. The lifespan is often equal to that of the vest itself.
